Grouping Pictures

Auto-grouping pictures into slides

You can group multiple pictures into a single slide that shows all of the pictures nearly simultaneously. The layout of the pictures within each slide can be 2x1, 2x2, 1x2, 3x1, and 3x2.

During the slide show, the slides will appear in succession, one at a time. Each successive picture will be delayed by the time per picture you having configured (see setting the timing of the slide show). If you have consecutive slides that have the same layout, then will be shown in such a way that the individual pictures flow continuously from slide to slide.

To group a set of slides together automatically

1 Select pictures and slides that you you wish to group or regroup in the picture list.
2 Control-click or right click on the selected pictures or else click on the Group Pictures in the toolbar. This will display a pop-up menu.
3 Click on the Auto-Group button.
4 You can also choose Edit > Auto-group or press Cmd-G.

If you have selected more pictures than will fit in the layout, they will be grouped into multiple slides. If you have selected fewer pictures than will fit in the layout, the new slide will have empty slots (see adding and editing pictures).

You can set your preferences so that slides are always automatically grouped when you add them to a document (see setting grouping preferences).
